Flourishing & Envelopes Calligraphy Workshop with Suzanne Cunningham at 1818 Farms (1 or 2 Days)
Professional calligrapher, Suzanne Cunningham, will be teaching a two-day Flourishing and Envelopes class Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28th, 2018 at 1818 Farms.
This will be a weekend chocked full of FUN and useful information for the intermediate calligrapher.
The first day will be spent learning how to add beautiful flourishes to your calligraphy. You already know your letterforms, now learn the ins and outs of flourishing and take them to the next level. There are many variations of flourishes that will be covered. You will learn how to make each one properly and most importantly, you’ll learn how to critique your work. You can’t fix it if you don’t see it!
Day two is all about the envelopes. Everything you need to know to properly address envelopes will be covered in this class. From the setup, to the list, to all the dos and don’ts, you’ll be covered! This is a fun, new class that will leave you ready to tackle even the trickiest envelope order!
These two classes may be purchased together for $225, or separately for $125 each.
This is an intermediate class and some knowledge and skill of calligraphy is beneficial. Supplies are NOT included in this class (you should already have the basics). Here is a list of supplies you will need to bring with you:
Moon palace sumi
Favorite pointed nib
Fons & Porter white pencil
Red pen or pencil for critiquing
Bleed proof white ink
Kneaded gum eraser
DO NOT buy a light pad or Slider Writer specifically for this class. They are more expensive and not necessary. We will do everything that is needed without them.
We will provide plenty of envelopes (for the Day two class). Snacks will be provided. There will be a break for lunch. You may want to bring your own lunch. There is a Subway nearby.
Suzanne's classes fill up quickly and seats are limited to 12.
