Wonderful Evening for the Final "Dinner on the Farm" of the Season

Friday, October 17th at 1818 Farms, 70 guests enjoyed a delicious and fresh four-course Farm-to-Table dinner prepared by Chef Jakob Reed of Albany Bistro in Decatur.

While soft jazz music by A Mellow Toneplayed, guests mingled and enjoyed a variety of appetizers and viewed the garden and the animals.

At sunset, guests were seated at long farm style tables that were decorated with a rustic fall theme. Tables were adorned with fresh cut jackson vine, baby kale, pansies, pumpkins, and grape vine. White lights strung through bamboo poles gave the dinner a whimsical feel.

Chef Jakob introduced each course and explained where the ingredients were grown. The dinner menu featured winter squash and pear bisque, wilted greens and rampicante gnocchi, chicken and waffles, and sweet potato bread pudding for dessert.  Some of the local providers included:  Champion Farms,  and 1818 Farms.

At the end of the evening, guests left with a new appreciation for local farm produce cuisine and anticipation for the 2015 dinner series.
